This webinar presents current trends in Sustainability Reporting in North America, according to a recent research carried out by the Centre for Sustainability & Excellence (CSE). The research examined 415 unique sustainability reports, published by companies and organizations in the USA and Canada and analysed a number of characteristics regarding these organizations (e.g.sector, size, ownership) and their reporting practices (e.g. standards and guidelines used, external assurance practices).
Some interesting findings are listed below
- The sectors with the highest reporting presence are the sectors of financial services, energy & energy utilities, mining, and food & beverage.
- The majority of organizations (more than 80%) that publish a sustainability report are public.
- The reporting guidelines of the Global Reporting Initiative are the most commonly used reporting guidelines (77% of the reports).
- More than 1,000 Sustainability Reports are expected to be published in the next 2 years in North America.
